PRP is one of our non-invasive treatments that uses your body's own blood plasma to rejuvenate the face.
We draw a small amount of blood from you and process it in a centrifuge to extract the plasma, which is rich in growth factors. The plasma is then injected into your face with a fine needle or inserted using a dermapen to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.
The treatment usually takes about 30-60 minutes and requires an anesthetic gel to numb the skin only for pain tolerance. Most patients find the treatment relatively painless, although some may feel a slight stinging or burning sensation. There is usually no downtime, however, on the day of treatment, your skin will be very red and we recommend getting rest.
Although PRP therapy is a safe and effective option, there is mild swelling and severe redness that usually subsides within 1-3 days. We recommend avoiding sun exposure and cleaning your skin well before treatment.
Approximately 2-4 weeks after treatment, you should have a follow-up examination to check the success of treatment and plan further action.
