If you decide to have surgical treatment, we will work with you to schedule the procedure. The length of the procedure can vary depending on the extent of the gynecomastia, but on average it takes about 1 to 2 hours.
The procedure is usually performed under twilight sleep or general anesthesia to ensure your maximum comfort and safety. Our surgeon will make a small incision in the affected breast area. The exact position of the incision depends on the extent of the gynecomastia and is chosen so that the subsequent scar is as inconspicuous as possible.
Through this incision, our surgeon removes the excess breast tissue, consisting of fat and glandular tissue. In some cases, excess skin may also be removed to create a firmer and flatter breast contour. In this case, we ensure that the tissue is removed evenly to achieve a symmetrical breast shape.
